What to know for May 6
  • Arrive early. The session runs all day — the LIFT bill's slot isn't announced in advance.
  • Getting in: Enter at the northeast corner of City Hall (Market & Broad, near the Masonic Temple). Bring a government-issued ID to pass through security.
  • Pre-register to testify using the contact info above — it takes 2 minutes and is the official requirement for public hearings. When you arrive, sign in at the booklet at the Room 400 entrance with your name and Bill No. 251026.
  • Testify: You have 2 minutes (~300 words). Lead with your personal story — how this affects your work and income. Council responds to people, not statistics.
  • Finish strong: End with “That concludes my testimony.”
  • Bring: Your ID, notes, water, and a pen.
